Jean-Baptiste Bacquart studied Art History and Archaeology at The Sorbonne and The Ecole du Louvre in Paris.
Former Head of the Tribal Art Department at Sotheby's London (1992-2000), he now works as a dealer and consultant, advising museums and private collectors across the world on the acquisition and conservation of tribal works of Art.
His book, "The Tribal Arts of Africa", (publisher: Thames and Hudson) has received public acclaim and is now in its 4th reedition.
He regularly exhibits in international fairs (Belgium, USA). He is also regularly interviewed by television and national radio stations on matters concerning collecting and tribal Arts. -
